A revitalized Medvedev claimed his first trophy for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.

The athlete, a ex- number one, has experienced a torrid period, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.

The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in particular - led to him dropping out of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-term coach Cervara.

Now working with Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Moutet.

It is the player's initial championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court from spring of the previous year.

Victory also means he has secured twenty-one championships at 21 different events.

"For the first time I'm at a competition with my both daughters together, so to win a trophy is really nice," commented world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his past six title deciders, comprising in that event earlier this year.

The player's counter-punching strategy and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had led observers to doubt if his skill to play at the highest level was finished.

But the athlete has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and play aggressively, supported by an better service.

Medvedev fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging Moutet, winning four of the last five games to take the lead.

The competitors traded break points in the following set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to create a third set.

He saved four early break points in a competitive third set before the Russian won the break to 15 to close out the victory.

Appropriately, Medvedev earned victory with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to handle a return after a lengthy match.
