The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the pair confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Ex two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Boxer's Mentality
"I will damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.
"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's my goal."
Civil Interaction
In spite of those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally known for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.
Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's largest money-making draws, consistently making substantial financial rewards.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in round four or five and claimed he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.
"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.
Size Disparity
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it emphasized just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is truly happening.
